Oslo based agency Your Friends designed this identity and promotional material in 2009 for the Norwegian design seminar Edit. They have a very complicated explanation about the thinking behind the design on their site:
The concept and idea is based on the theme effect. An effect is regarded as a concluded result, and can be used as a base for directions chosen while developing. The overall idea was to research a form of “study” on the effect of design, in which the seminars target-group took part in the process of building the identity.
I really like the overall cohesive effect (no pun intended) of the branding, it has a bit of a David Carson flavour:
